A School Day at Maraetai Beach School
Maraetai Beach School’s International Student programme
Below you will find some information that will help you to prepare for your visit.
School starts at 9:00 am and finishes at 3:00 pm.
Please arrive at school between 8:30 and 8:50 to prepare for your day.
The morning interval is 11:00 am - 11.30 am.
Lunchtime is 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm.
If your child is not going to be at school for the day, please let the office know.
Our office hours are from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

School Schedule

We teach Mathematics, Literacy, Arts, Te Reo (Maori Language), Sports, Digital Technology, Extra Curricular activities.

• 11:00 am - 11:30 am
Fruit Snack - Years 0 - 4 only.
At 10:00 am we have a fruit, vegetable or a nut snack.
Please bring something for you to eat at this time.
Store your snack in a separate container.
We do this to give our body and brain a break, so we have more energy to learn.
My Morning Tea
At our school, we are an environmentally friendly school. When we make our lunch box, we do not pack any wrappers or packaging. We call this a waste-free lunch.
• We sit down and eat with our friends until the bell rings at 11:10am.
• We eat a small amount of food.
• Rubbish stays inside your lunch box.
• We do not feed the birds.
• We do not share food.
• We drink water from our water bottle.
• We wear our hats outdoors.

After school
• After the bell rings each day to signal the end of the school day. Parents, please make sure you are at school to collect your child.
• Make a meeting place to find your family at the end of the day. Outside your classroom is a good place to meet.
• We cross the road using the school crossing. We wait unitl the signs open up and you hear “cross now.”
• We cross the road with an adult, an older sibling or a friend if we can.
• Please look left and right to check there are no cars coming.
