Children may attend school when they reach five years of age. It is compulsory in New Zealand for children to attend school from their sixth birthday.  When enrolling your child, it is a requirement for the office staff to sight the original birth certificate, if New Zealand born  or other official document of birth date evidence.  A copy will be made and filed with your child’s enrolment.

An enrolment pack containing the relevant forms can be obtained from the office.  Enrolments can be made at any time from your child turning 4.  We offer 2 pre-school visits in order to familiarise your child with the school environment.

A starting school meeting is held each term for parents of children due to start school. You will receive letters of invitation to classroom visits and the most convenient parent meeting.

Every new child has the opportunity to have 2 starting school visits and can be part of our Jump Start programme.

Maraetai Beach School currently has an enrolment scheme.  Maraetai Beach School also runs a cohort entry system.
