Ms Tristan Gilchrist
International Student Director
Tristan has been part of the Maraetai Beach School community for over 16 years, both as a parent and an employee. As the Director of our International Student Programme, she has been instrumental in developing and organising the programme since its inception in 2016, ensuring a welcoming and enriching experience for students from around the world.
Having lived overseas with her own children attending an international school, she understands the unique needs of visiting students. With a background in Human Resources and over a decade of experience in the education sector, she is passionate about creating an exciting and rewarding experience that allows international students to thrive at our school.
Mrs Rebekah Gundesen
Coordinator and ESOL Teacher
For the past six years, Rebekah has played a key role in supporting our English Language Learners and International Students from around the world. As both a teacher and a parent, she takes pride in creating meaningful opportunities for students to build friendships, embrace new cultures, and develop leadership skills.
She is dedicated to ensuring our international students feel welcome and engaged, providing a well-rounded experience that offers genuine insight into education in Aotearoa New Zealand. In our dynamic classrooms, students thrive academically—excelling in mathematics, science, and literacy—while also gaining an appreciation for New Zealand’s unique culture.
