We are a friendly group of parents dedicated to helping make Maraetai Beach School the best it can be. We help out at school events and fundraise for the school.  In the past we have raised funds for big and small projects including the following:

  • Robotics
  • School pool upgrade – painting, new mats in changing rooms, new pool pump, new shade over all the seating areas
  • Sunshades around the School
  • Rugby Goal Posts
  • Cricket Nets
  • Playground upgrades
  • Branded Jackets for the staff
  • Classroom resources
  • AIMS Games sweatshirts
  • Lighting and sound equipment for school productions

 

 

Our Team…….

Our Chairperson is Lesley Crawshaw. Lesley has been in this role for 1½ years. Lesley has two children at MBS, Samuel & Lily. This role involves facilitating PTA Meetings, being the face of the PTA, liaising with the Principal and the Board.  You will see Lesley at school assemblies advising of our upcoming exciting events and telling the children & parents all about what we have planned.

Our Treasurer is Michelle Gover. Michelle took on this role in September 2018. Michelle has two children at MBS, Max and Brooke.  This role is responsible for managing the PTA accounts and reporting on the financial position at PTA Meetings. The Treasurer also assists with any financial tasks relating to events, e.g. Floats, EFTPOS, banking etc.

Our Secretary is Ami Cannell. Ami has been in this role for 2 years. Ami has two daughters at MBS, Madi & Hannah. This role involves compiling agendas and minutes for PTA meetings. It also includes keeping policies and procedures up to date and general communication to PTA members as required.

As well as these executive roles by these dedicated mums, our team is also made up of other amazing members, some who have been with the PTA for many years & others who are new to the team.

We welcome anyone who would like to come along to our meetings (we are a friendly bunch & the meetings are not daunting).  Fresh ideas and new faces are always great.

 

How you can help….

If you would like to be involved we welcome any new members.  We meet approximately every 6 weeks (usually with a glass of wine!) and there are always ways in which you can get involved. Some of our key fundraising initiatives include:

  • Annual Themed Auction night
  • PTA Stalls at sports events
  • Easter Picnic stalls
  • Annual Fun Run Events
  • Annual Classroom Hamper Raffle
  • Kids movie night
  • Kids Disco
  • Christmas at Sunkist event & Jolly Jars
